About Quezon Province. Quezon province is located in the eastern part of Luzon facing the Pacific Ocean and approximately 137 kilometers by road from the province's capital, Lucena City, to Manila. It is among the Provinces of Region 4 or the Southern Tagalog Region. The province has a total land area of 870,660 hectares or 8,706.6 square kilometer (18.6% share in Region IV) and stretching from the province of Aurora in the north down to Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur in the south, along with the Sierra Madre Mountain that runs along the province.

According to the 2000 Census of Population and Housing of NSO, as of May 1, 2000, the total population of Quezon Province is 1,482,955 or 12.57% of the total population of Southern Tagalog Region. Sariaya is the most populated among the cities and municipalities of Quezon which has a total population of 114,568 or 7.73% of the Quezon's population, as of year 2000.

Inhabitants of Quezon province are mostly Tagalogs, approximately 92% of the total population, together with some Bisaya, approximately 3%, Bicolano, approximately 2%, and other.

Quezon Province is subdivided into 40 municipalities and one city, the Lucena City, which composed to 1,242 Barangays.
